POLICE OFFICER JOE YANUL YOUNG TOM (ME) SHOWN WITH MOTHER ESTELLE, HAD BEEN SERVING AS ALTER BOY AT SUNDAY MORNING MASS AT ST. GALL'S CHURCH. WHEN TOM LEFT TO GET HIS BIKE HE FOUND IT HAD BEEN STOLEN. A FEW HOURS LATER WITH THE FAMILY OUTSIDE DOING YARD WORK, TOM SPOTS HIS BIKE PASSING BY, SHOUTS TO DAD, DAD GRABS OLDER SON RICHARD'S SCHWINN BIKE AND TAKES OFF AFTER CULPRIT. SHORT TIME LATER OFFICER YANUL RETURNS WITH TOM'S BIKE AND THE THIEF WHO WAS TURNED OVER TO LOCAL CHICAGO LAWN POLICE. NEWS PHOTOG HEARS STORY, MAKES FAMOUS FAMILY PHOTO WHICH RUNS IN NEWSPAPER.
