LAWRENCE OF AMERICA
MORE GROUND VIEWS - 100TH ANNIVERSARY
APRIL 1906-2006     COPYRIGHT THOMAS YANUL   PAGE 2

LAWRENCE WITH KODAK
STEREO CAMERA. PASSED ON
TO FAMILY WHEN HE DIED.

TWO SEATED AND ONE HOLDING BOTTLE,
PART OF LAWRENCE ENTOURAGE. THE MAN
HOLDING THE 8X10 CAMERA IS MARTIN WEIMER,
LAWRENCE'S RIGHT-HAND MAN FROM GEORGE'S
EARLIEST DAYS BACK TO HIS BALLOON PHOT0GRAPY.
THE MAN DRINKING COFFEE AND THE MAN HOLDING
THE BOTTLE WERE WORKING WITH LAWRENCE ON
THE FAMOUS PAN SHOTS, BUT THEY ARE NOT
KNOWN. ONE MAY VERY WELL BE RAPER J. WATERS,
A SAN FRANCISCO PHOTOGRAPHER.  WATERS WAS
ONE TIME PARTNER WITH  SF PHOTOGRAPHER
MORTON AND BECAME QUITE WELL KNOWN IN
SF AS A COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHER.

IT IS NOT GENERALLY KNOWN THAT WATERS RENTED THE KITE SYSTEM USED FOR THE SF PHOTOS WHEN LAWRENCE LEFT TOWN, AND  USED IT SUCCESSFULLY FOR MANY YEARS TO MAKE AERIAL VIEWS IN CALIFORNIA.

I KNOW A BIT ABOUT WATERS BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND A PHOTO OF HIM.
